We are a family ranch located near Lake Alma, SK. It is a beautiful, expansive, treeless part of the prairie grasslands.
This tiny rural community is the perfect place to raise our kids and our cows. Our operation includes ourselves, Jason and Stephanie Fradette and our 3 daughters: Heidi, Amy and Andie. We run a commercial herd and purebred Speckle Park and Simmental herds, as well as a backgrounder and grasser operation.
We enjoy the challenges and rewards that come with ranching. The complexities of developing the right type of cattle to suit our environment has been a long term project. We need moderate cows that are structurally sound, quiet and adaptable. Our cows average 1350lbs. This is our ideal sized cow. She’s big enough that we aren’t limited in what bulls she can be bred to, she can raise a calf that fits into most feedlots’ programs and she has enough capacity that she winters well. We also strive to have a herd that is a pleasure to look at, safe to work with and can turn a profit.
